The problem
A junior cashier can apply unauthorized discounts, override prices, or issue refunds because Odoo's default Point of Sale shows every action button to every till. Compact touchscreens get cluttered fast, and the calculator-style numpad forces slow manual decimal entry that causes till discrepancies. Fixing this today means installing two or three overlapping apps — one for buttons, another for the numpad — and configuring both blind, with no preview of what the cashier will actually see.

Hide or grey out action buttons
Control Quantity, Price, Discount, Refund, Customer Note, Info, and Customer selection independently, with an explicit hidden-or-greyed behavior per till so cashiers are never confused.
Full numpad control
Show, hide, or compact the product-screen numpad, hide only the Discount, Price, or +/- keys, and auto-hide it after a configurable inactivity timeout to reclaim screen space.
F2 shortcut with visual indicator
Cashiers toggle the numpad instantly with the F2 key, and an on-screen eye icon always shows the current visible-or-hidden state at a glance.

How it works
Enable on a till
Open the Point of Sale settings, switch to the "Button & Numpad Control" tab, and turn on management for that till.
Build a rule
Pick a user or a security group, choose a role preset or hand-pick buttons, and set the numpad behavior for that target.
Preview before saving
Open the Preview wizard to see the exact visible, hidden, and greyed-out buttons the target will get on the real till.
Cashiers check out
The till enforces the rule automatically, with F2 and an on-screen toggle for the numpad, and the state persists across logins.
