The problem
Rewarding customers on their birthday should be automatic, but Odoo POS has no built-in way to detect a birthday and apply a reward. Cashiers must remember to ask, calculate eligibility, and manually key in a discount — a process that is inconsistent, easy to abuse, and invisible to management.
The solution
POS Birthday Discount detects an eligible customer the instant they are selected and applies the configured reward — percentage discount or free product — automatically. A one-glance cashier banner, a receipt reason line, once-per-year abuse control, and a full redemption log turn a manual habit into a reliable, reportable program.

Automatic reward at checkout
The moment an eligible customer is selected on the Product Screen, the configured birthday reward applies itself — no cashier calculation required.
Percentage discount or free product
Choose whether the birthday reward is a configurable percentage off eligible lines or a free gift product, set once per Point of Sale.
Flexible eligibility window
Decide whether a customer qualifies on their exact birthday, anywhere in their birthday month, or within a configurable grace window of days before and after.
Once-per-year abuse control
A customer's last reward date is stamped automatically so the same birthday reward cannot be claimed twice in the same year — and the reward is released again if the order is cancelled.
Product, category, and minimum-order rules
Restrict the reward to specific POS categories and require a minimum order amount so the discount never applies where it shouldn't.
Per-customer VIP override
Grant an individual customer a richer discount percentage than the store default, or opt them out of the program entirely, right from their contact record.
Cashier banner and receipt reason line
A clear banner confirms the applied reward and its amount before checkout, and the printed receipt explains the discount so the customer sees exactly why they saved.
Redemption log and reporting pivot
Every reward is recorded with the customer, POS, cashier, type, and amount, with a pivot view so managers can measure the program's real cost.
Upcoming Birthdays view
A dedicated backend list shows every customer's birthday month, next occurrence, and last reward date, so staff can see who is coming up.
