The problem
Odoo keeps only one current cost per product. The moment a vendor raises a price, a landed cost lands, or a new lot arrives at a different rate, the old cost is gone — so margins erode invisibly, audits cannot reconstruct what a product cost on a past invoice date, and lot-heavy operations sell high-cost or near-expiry stock at the same price as cheap stock.
The solution
Every cost movement is logged with who changed it, when, by how much, and why — whether it came from a manual edit, a vendor sync, a landed cost, or a purchase order.
