The problem
Shoppers comparing similar products juggle multiple browser tabs, scroll back and forth, and lose track of which item had the better price or spec. Odoo's native storefront has no built-in way to line products up side by side, so buyers hesitate, abandon their session, or pick the wrong item — especially in attribute-heavy catalogs where the differences are subtle.
The solution
Website Product Comparison adds an "Add to Compare" action to the shop grid and product pages, a header counter, and a responsive comparison table showing image, price, live stock status, and merchant-chosen attribute rows. The list persists across sessions for guests and logged-in shoppers alike, so buyers can leave and come back without losing their picks.

Side-by-side comparison table
Compare up to a configurable number of products (default four) in a clean table with image, name, price, stock, and attribute rows.
Real-time stock awareness
Each column shows a live in-stock or out-of-stock badge, with quantity when available, pulled straight from Odoo Inventory — shoppers never compare toward an item they can't buy.
Persistent comparison list
The comparison set is saved per shopper — per partner for logged-in customers, per session for guests — and survives page refreshes and return visits.
Merchant-chosen attribute rows
Pick exactly which product attributes appear as comparison rows with a "Show in Comparison" toggle, so the table highlights the specs that matter for your catalog.
Configurable comparison width
Set the maximum number of products a shopper can compare at once from Website Settings, with a sensible default of four.
Shop grid & product page entry points
"Add to Compare" buttons appear on the shop grid and every product page, plus a header counter link with a live badge count.
Shareable, SEO-ready pages
Comparison pages accept a shareable link listing the compared products, turning comparisons into a source of search traffic.
Mobile-responsive layout
The comparison table reflows into a scrollable, readable layout on phones and tablets — no squeezing a desktop-width table onto a small screen.

How it works
Enable in Settings
Turn on Product Comparison in Website Settings and set your preferred product limit and stock visibility.
Shoppers add products
Buyers click "Add to Compare" on the shop grid or a product page; a header badge tracks the running count.

The comparison page lines up every picked product with image, price, live stock, and chosen attribute rows.
Buy, remove, or share
Shoppers add to cart straight from the table, remove items they have ruled out, or share the comparison link with a friend.
