The problem
When a sales order is confirmed, Odoo stamps the confirmation with the moment someone clicks the button — not the day the deal was actually agreed. Orders entered days late, backdated to match a signed quotation, or postdated to a delivery commitment all inherit the wrong anchor date, throwing off monthly and quarterly reporting, commission periods, and lead-time calculations. The one existing tool that lets you edit this date reportedly breaks at month-end and month-start — exactly the boundaries finance teams depend on most — and keeps no record of who changed what.
The solution
Sales Confirmation Date adds a Planned Confirmation Date to every quotation that is validated before you ever click Confirm, stamped onto the order's official Order Date on confirmation, and processed reliably at every month boundary. Configurable back-dating and future-dating limits reject obviously wrong dates with a clear reason, a lightweight approval step covers dates that cross a reporting period, a bulk wizard corrects a whole backlog in one action, and every change is logged with who, when, and why — so the date your reports rely on is one you can defend.

Planned Confirmation Date
Pick the real agreement date on any quotation. It is stamped as the order's official Order Date the moment the order is confirmed, so reporting reflects when the commitment was made.
Month-Boundary-Safe Validation
Every date check runs on real calendar arithmetic, never string-slicing or manual month math — so dates on the last day or first day of a month process reliably, closing the defect that undermines the competing tool.
Pre-Confirm Warnings
Before you confirm, the form shows whether the planned date passes validation and names the exact date and reason if it does not — no more silent failures at confirm time.
Configurable Date Range Limits
Set a maximum back-dating and future-dating window in days. Dates outside the allowed range are rejected with a clear, specific message instead of silently accepted.
Approval For Sensitive Backdates
When a planned date crosses a reporting period boundary, confirmation is held until a manager in the approver group signs off, giving finance real oversight over sensitive date changes.
Bulk Confirmation Date Wizard
Select any number of orders and set the same confirmation date across all of them, or shift each order's date by a number of days — ideal for correcting a backlog of backdated orders in minutes.
Full Audit Trail
Every confirmation date change — on confirm, via approval, or through the batch wizard — is logged with who made it, when, and the old and new dates, so finance can defend the numbers in an audit.
