The problem
Adding products to a sale order in Odoo means opening each line and typing into a field that only matches on product name. Order-entry clerks and inside-sales reps who know their catalog by partial names, references or barcodes must click into every line just to search, verify quantities, or check stock — slowing high-volume quote and order entry to a crawl.
The solution
Sales Order Quick Product Search adds one search box to the order header. Type any part of a name, reference, barcode or sales description and get a ranked, inline results list with live on-hand, forecasted or free-to-use availability and the customer's last paid price — then tick the ones you want and add them all with a single click.

One-Box Multi-Field Search
Search product name, internal reference, barcode and sales description at once, with results ranked by relevance so the best match is always on top.
Typo-Tolerant, Order-Independent Matching
Multi-token matching finds products even when search terms are out of order or only partially typed — no need to remember the exact name.
Inline Results, No Extra Screens
Results render directly inside the search dialog opened from the order header — no separate picker screen and no line-by-line navigation.
Live Availability at a Glance
Choose On Hand, Forecasted, or Free To Use as the availability figure shown next to every result, so reps can promise quantities with confidence.
Last Price This Customer Paid
Each result shows the last unit price the customer paid for that product, sourced from invoice or delivery address history, so reps skip manual price lookups.
Single-Click Bulk Add
Tick the products you want — or add all in-stock results in one click — with per-row quantities. Odoo's own pricelist and tax logic fills in the rest.
Category and In-Stock Filtering
Narrow results by product category, including sub-categories, and show only in-stock items to keep the results list focused.
No-Code Settings
Configure which fields are searched, the default availability figure, and the maximum number of results from Sales Settings — no developer mode required.
Role-Based Access Control
A dedicated user group, auto-granted to salespeople and sales managers, lets admins control exactly who can use quick search.
How it works
Open the Order
Click "Quick Product Search" in the header of any draft or sent quotation.
Search
Type a name, reference, barcode or description; results rank by relevance with live availability and last price shown inline.
Select and Add
Tick the products you want, or Add All In-Stock, and set quantities per row.
Confirm
The new lines land on the order instantly, priced and taxed by Odoo's own pricelist logic.
