The problem
In make-to-order and custom manufacturing, the description a salesperson types on the order line carries the real customer intent — left-hinged doors, a specific finish, an engraved logo. Standard Odoo drops that text once the sale becomes a manufacturing order: operators building the item, and warehouse staff packing or receiving it, see only a product name and have to stop, hunt for the sales order, or call the sales desk to confirm what was actually promised.

This app carries the sale line description — and the purchase line description for incoming goods — automatically from the order down through the manufacturing order, every work order, and delivery and receipt pickings, including the printed PDF. It shows up as a large, unmissable block at the point of work, with line breaks preserved, so the instruction that was promised is exactly what the floor sees.

Customer Instructions on Work Orders
Every work order shows the sale line description as a large, highlighted block at the top of the form — the exact text the customer agreed to, visible the moment the operator opens the job.
Manufacturing Order Description
The manufacturing order itself carries the same highlighted description, sourced from its originating sale order line, so anyone reviewing the MO sees the customer's instructions without opening the sale order.
End-to-End Propagation
The description flows automatically from the sale order line to the manufacturing order and on to every work order it generates — no manual re-entry, no missing text partway down the chain.
Delivery Picking Visibility
Outgoing delivery pickings show the sale line description alongside each move, so warehouse pickers pack against the exact specification the customer ordered.
Receipt Picking Visibility
Incoming receipts show the purchase line description on each move, giving receiving staff the same clarity for goods coming in as operators get for goods going out.
On the Delivery & Receipt PDF
The customer or vendor instruction prints directly on the delivery slip and receipt PDF, under the product line, so the description travels with the physical paperwork too.
Survives Splitting and Backorders
Because the description is stored on the work order and recomputed from the manufacturing order, it stays attached correctly even when work orders are split or a picking is partially delivered and backordered.
Formatting-Faithful Display
Line breaks from the original sale or purchase line are preserved end to end, so multi-point instructions stay readable as a list instead of collapsing into one dense paragraph.
Read-Only, Zero Configuration
The fields are display-only computed additions to existing models — there is nothing to configure and nothing that writes back to the sale or purchase order, so it installs and works immediately.
How it works
Confirm the Sale Order
A salesperson enters the customer's instructions on the order line and confirms the order as usual.
Manufacturing Order Generated
Odoo creates the manufacturing order and its work orders; this app copies the sale line description onto the MO and each work order automatically.
Operator Sees It on the Floor
The operator opens the work order and sees the customer instructions in a large, highlighted block at the top of the form — no lookup required.
Description Travels to Pickings
The same description appears on the delivery picking, the receipt picking, and the printed slip, so the instruction stays visible from build through to shipment or receipt.
