The problem
Odoo's native Unbuild handles only the simplest case: one order at a time, tied to a finished manufacturing order, with no batch processing, no return to the exact original location, no serial generation, and no link between a cost discrepancy and your accounting. Any real disassembly workflow forces fake manufacturing orders, manual stock adjustments, or spreadsheets to track margins.
The solution
This app extends Unbuild with MO-less recovery, a guided batch wizard with dry-run preview and rollback, percentage cost allocation with reusable templates, automatic value-difference journal entries, serial and lot generation with pre-commit review, and a reverse BoM wizard, so every disassembly stays fast, auditable, and correctly valued.

Unbuild without a manufacturing order
Disassemble purchased or received goods that were never manufactured in Odoo, with components auto-fetched from the product's bill of materials and still manually adjustable.
Guided batch processing
Select multiple done manufacturing orders, preview the exact components, quantities, and valuation impact in a dry run, then execute with a live progress bar, skip-and-continue partial success, and a full rollback if needed.
Batch run log and audit trail
Every batch keeps a per-line savepoint log recording which orders succeeded, which failed and why, and a running summary of components recovered, so nothing is a black box.
Restore to the exact origin location
Return recovered components to the precise source and destination locations they came from, with the original owner retained and a nearest-equivalent fallback when the original location is gone.
Serial and lot generation with review
Generate serial or lot numbers for recovered tracked components automatically or manually, reuse existing lots, and review every generated number for edit before the unbuild is finalized.
Percentage cost allocation with templates
Split a product's cost across recovered components by defined percentages, start from an auto-suggested quantity-based split, and save reusable allocation templates per product family.
Automatic value-difference accounting
When the sum of component values differs from the finished product's cost, the app automatically posts a journal entry to a configurable profit and loss account, correct across multi-company and Anglo-Saxon setups.
Reverse BoM and dismantling wizard
Generate a dismantling bill of materials from any standard BoM in one click, choose the primary recovered component, and get flagged when the source BoM changes out of sync.
Full visibility and reporting
See unbuild status badges right on the manufacturing order list, drill down from any order into its valuation layers, and print single or batch PDF reports for compliance and audit trails.
