Cerevantix POS Total Amount in Words prints the exact amount due as a written phrase on every Point of Sale receipt — live, reactive, and always in sync with the total, in the customer’s own language.
The problem
Many jurisdictions and banking practices expect a printed receipt to state the total in words as well as numerals, but standard Odoo POS has no such field. Cashiers either type it by hand — slow and error-prone — or the business simply goes without it. Worse, competing apps compute the words once and never refresh them, so a receipt can print a written amount that silently disagrees with a discount or line added afterward.
The solution
This module adds a live, client-side converter that reads the order’s running total on every render, so the written amount can never go stale. Ten languages ship out of the box with automatic customer-language detection, correct currency and subunit naming, and a settings screen to control placement, wording, and casing — plus a stored audit trail of exactly what each receipt printed.

Live, Always-Correct Words
The total in words recomputes on every change to the order — a new line, a discount, a split payment — so the printed phrase can never disagree with the printed number.
Fully Automatic, Zero Cashier Effort
No manual trigger, no extra step at checkout. The written amount appears on the receipt the moment the sale is finalized, exactly like the numeric total.
Works Offline
The converter runs entirely in the POS client in JavaScript, with no server round-trip needed to render the words, so it keeps working even when the terminal loses connectivity.

Auto-Detects The Customer’s Language
When a customer is attached to the sale, the receipt prints in their language automatically; an admin override fixes one language per terminal instead.
Correct Currency & Subunit Naming
Each language/currency pair has its own unit and subunit names (Euros/Cents, Dollars/Cents, Dirhams/Fils, and more), configured centrally rather than hard-coded.
Configurable Wording & Placement
Choose whether the words print above the total, below it, or in the receipt footer, plus casing, prefix, suffix and the joining word, all from one settings screen.
Centralized Admin Configuration
A dedicated settings screen lists every supported language and currency term, so enabling a new market is a data entry, not a support ticket.
Built-In Audit Trail
The exact phrase printed on each receipt is stored on the POS order for compliance review, dispute resolution, and reprints.

Enable & Configure
In Point of Sale Settings, turn on Amount in Words, choose the language source (customer or fixed terminal) and pick where the words print on the receipt.
Ring Up The Sale
Cashiers work exactly as before — add products, apply discounts, take payment. Nothing about the checkout flow changes.
