Multi-level products are made of components that are themselves manufactured from other components, but a standard Odoo BOM only shows one level at a time. Planners flatten deep bills of materials into a single list, or manually chain manufacturing orders together, and redo the same sub-component requirement math by hand every time top-level demand changes.

An Explode Tree button on every Bill of Materials opens its Requirements Planner instantly, alongside a multi-level indicator and depth reached — no need to rebuild the scenario by hand.
Change-Impact on Shared Components
An Impact button on any BOM line shows every other Bill of Materials that ultimately consumes that component, so you see the ripple effect before you edit a shared part.
Manufacturing Order Shortage Banner
A manufacturing order shows a plain-language, multi-level shortage summary and a Requirements smart button that opens the full planner for that exact product and quantity.
BOM Selector on Sales Orders
When a product has several Bills of Materials, sales can pick the right one directly on the order line, plus a configurable Max Depth, Shortage Policy and Route Recommendation setting.
