The problem
Project managers assign tasks with deadlines in Project, then a coordinator separately schedules the same work in Planning. The two records have no relationship, so planned dates drift apart, double-booking goes unnoticed, and nobody can tell whether a task is actually on someone's calendar without manually cross-checking two apps.

Link each Planning shift directly to the project task it supports, scoped to the right project and sale order. Dates sync automatically in both directions, conflicts surface as an inline warning the moment they appear, and a bulk wizard lets you schedule an entire project's tasks in one action.

Project-scoped task selector
Pick the linked task directly from the Planning shift form, with the dropdown limited to tasks in the shift's own project so you never scroll a long unscoped list.
Sale-order-scoped filtering
Narrow the task selector further to a specific sale order, so scheduled effort always maps to the work that was actually sold.
Two-way date synchronization
Change a shift's start or end and the task's planned dates update automatically, and vice versa — both sides stay accurate no matter which one is edited first.
Live conflict detection
When a shift's dates and its task's planned dates diverge, an inline banner appears immediately with one-click actions to adopt the task's dates or the shift's dates.
Cross-project warning
A visible banner flags when a shift is linked to a task outside its own project, catching accidental mis-links before they cause confusion.
Inline task context preview
See the linked task's customer and sale order right on the shift form, so you can verify the association without leaving the page.
Task column & group-by in the schedule
The Planning list view shows the linked task in its own column, with a "Linked to Task" filter and a "Task" group-by for a fast per-task view of the schedule.
Smart button on the task form
Every project task shows a smart button with the count of Planning shifts linked to it, one click away from the full list.
Bulk linking wizard
Select any number of tasks from the project task list and create a Planning shift for each one in a single action, ideal for onboarding a whole project's schedule at once.
How it works
Link a shift to a task
Open a Planning shift and pick the task it supports from a selector scoped to the shift's project and, optionally, its sale order.
Review the context
The shift form shows the task's customer and sale order inline, plus a warning if the task belongs to a different project.
Stay in sync automatically
Dates flow both ways between the shift and its task. If they ever diverge, a conflict banner lets you resolve it in one click.
Bulk-link a whole project
From the task list, select multiple tasks and use "Plan in Planning" to create a linked shift for each one at once.

Yes. Editing a Planning shift's start or end date updates its linked task's planned dates, and editing the task's planned dates updates the linked shift — a recursion-safe guard keeps the two from looping.
