Branded order numbers, personalized receipts
Configure branded, human-readable POS order numbers and manage reusable receipt templates with a live preview, version history, and one-action rollout across every store.
The problem
Odoo's default POS order numbers are opaque and session-based, meaning nothing to staff or customers. Changing what prints on a receipt, from header branding to a promotion footer, means hand-editing XML templates and JavaScript, putting it out of reach for the store managers who actually run POS day to day.
The solution
Configure a branded order-number format per store (prefix, suffix, padding, and period reset), then build reusable receipt templates with field toggles, industry presets, and a live backend preview. Save versions, roll a template out to every store in one action, and import or export templates as JSON, all without touching code.
Everything for branded, personalized receipts
Every capability below is implemented in the module.
Configurable Order Numbers
Set a prefix, suffix, zero-padding width, and separator, with {store}, {year}, {month}, and {day} tokens, so numbers read like A-0042 instead of an opaque session reference.
Per-Store Prefixing
Give each Point of Sale its own prefix so head office can tell which store an order came from at a glance, with no separate numbering scheme to maintain.
Reusable Receipt Templates
Build header and footer branding, choose which fields print, and reuse the same template across as many Points of Sale as needed.
Industry Presets
Start from a Retail, Food & Beverage, or Pharmacy preset instead of a blank template, then adjust the fields and wording to match the store.
Backend Live Preview
See exactly how a template will print, header, order number, customer name, and footer, before it ever reaches a till.
Version History & Rollback
Every saved template state is kept in a version list; restore a prior version in one click if a change turns out to be wrong.
One-Action Multi-Store Rollout
Apply a validated template and numbering scheme to any number of Points of Sale at once, keeping each store's own prefix or setting a shared one.
JSON Import & Export
Export a template to JSON and import it elsewhere to replicate a proven receipt design across companies or environments.
Personalization by Payment Method or Customer
Show different header, footer, or field content depending on the payment method used or whether the order has a registered customer.
How it works
Turn on custom numbering
Open a Point of Sale's configuration and set the prefix, suffix, padding, separator, and reset rule; the format preview updates as you go.
Build a receipt template
Create a template from an industry preset or from scratch, toggle which fields print, and write the header and footer text.
Preview and save a version
Check the live preview, then save a version so the current state can always be restored later.
Roll out to every store
Use the rollout wizard to apply the template and numbering scheme to any number of Points of Sale in a single action.
Frequently asked
No sales fog. If your question isn't here, email us and we'll answer it the same way.
Yes. Turn on Custom Order Number on a Point of Sale's configuration and the module's format, including your prefix, suffix, padding, and reset rule, replaces the default reference on every printed and stored order.
