The problem
Native Survey supports only two matrix behaviors and a handful of rigid field types, so teams building Likert grids, PIN-coded entries, geolocation captures or file-upload questions are forced to split questions, bolt on free-text workarounds, or export data to an external SaaS survey tool — fragmenting the single source of truth Odoo is supposed to provide.
The solution
Survey Matrix Advance adds standard, striped, bordered and compact matrix layouts with an optional Likert scale band, nine new question types (email, range, time, week, month, color, geolocation, barcode/QR, file upload), pattern validation with respondent-facing help text, and reusable survey templates — all inside the native Survey app respondents already know.

Advanced Matrix Layouts
Present matrix grids in standard, striped, bordered or compact layouts, with an optional Likert scale band header for long rating grids.
Extended Field-Type Library
Nine new question types — email, range/slider, time, week, month, color, location (GPS), barcode/QR and file upload — sit alongside every native type.
Pattern Validation with Presets
Ready-made regex presets for PIN, phone and postal codes, plus custom patterns, each paired with respondent-facing help text explaining the expected format.
Custom Validation Messages
Define exactly what a respondent sees when their answer is rejected, so every validation error is actionable rather than generic.
First-Class File Upload Question
Accept documents and images as a native answer type, with configurable file-size ceilings and allowed extensions enforced both client- and server-side.
Multi-File Drag & Drop Uploads
Let respondents drop multiple files onto a single question, up to an author-configured file count, with immediate inline feedback.
In-Results File Preview & Download
Review uploaded images inline and download every attachment by its labeled filename directly from the survey print/review page.
Reusable Survey Templates
Save any survey as a categorized template (HR, CX, market research, quality) and spin up a new survey from it with one click via "Use Template".
Built-In Result Analytics
Open a pivot/graph analysis of every response — including matrix and file-upload answers — straight from the survey form's "Analyze Results" action.
