The problem
Standard Odoo Inventory has no persistent line number on picking, transfer, and delivery documents. Pickers count rows by eye, reconcile paper pick sheets against the screen by hand, and reference items by name instead of a short number — slow and error-prone once an order runs past a handful of lines.
The solution
Stock Transfer Line Number assigns a stable # to every move line the moment it is created, prints it on delivery and picking reports, and lets you bulk-renumber existing documents on demand. Pair it with the barcode Scan Check wizard to confirm a picker scanned the right item for the right line, every time.

Stable Line Numbers
Each move line gets a persistent Line # the moment it is created. Adding or removing a sibling line never shifts the rest — a deleted line leaves a gap instead of renumbering everything after it.
Configurable Numbering Scheme
Choose numeric or alphabetic numbering, and set an optional prefix and zero-padding, from a dedicated block in Inventory Settings — match your existing labeling or zone conventions in a few clicks.
One-Click Bulk Renumber
A Renumber Lines button on the transfer header, and the same action from the picking list Actions menu, compacts gaps and re-applies the current scheme to existing documents on demand.
Numbers On The Printed Report
The line number prints directly on the delivery / picking report, positioned identically to the on-screen list, so paper pick sheets match the system without any re-mapping.
Barcode Scan Check Wizard
Scan a barcode against a chosen line number and get an instant match or mismatch result, tying the line number into real validation instead of a display-only label.
Source-Document Propagation
When Sales is installed, the line order on the source sales order carries through to the related stock transfer — no hard dependency required, so the warehouse and the salesperson agree on “line 7.”
Every Transfer Type Covered

In Inventory Settings, turn on line numbering and pick a scheme — numeric or alphabetic, with an optional prefix and zero-padding.

Pick & verify by number
