Give every user their right warehouse on every order
Assign each person a default warehouse once, and watch it flow into every sales order and purchase order they create — across Sales, Purchase, and multi-company setups, with an admin console to manage it at scale.
The problem
In a multi-warehouse company, every sales order and purchase order asks the user to pick the right warehouse by hand. Regional reps, field technicians, and buyers who do not think in inventory terms routinely leave it on the company default, and the mistake surfaces downstream: mis-sourced deliveries, inaccurate stock valuation per location, wrong replenishment triggers, and hours lost reconciling transfers.
The solution
Set User Default Warehouse gives every person one warehouse assignment that automatically drives their Sales orders and Purchase receipts, with an admin console to assign, bulk-import, and audit who is covered, a setup assistant that checks prerequisites first, and a governed self-service option for users who need to switch depots themselves.
Everything you need to keep sourcing correct
Every capability below is implemented in the module.
Per-user default warehouse
Each user carries one default warehouse, stored per company, that flows automatically into the documents they create — no per-order picking required.
Auto-populated sales orders
New quotations and sales orders default to the salesperson's assigned warehouse the moment they are created, keeping delivery sourcing correct from the first click.
Auto-populated purchase orders
Purchase orders default their receiving picking type to the buyer's warehouse, closing the gap native Odoo leaves on the purchasing side.
Admin bulk-assignment console
A dedicated list view lets an administrator assign or edit default warehouses for every internal user at once, with native import for large teams.
Assignment audit at a glance
A Warehouse Assigned indicator and Assigned / Unassigned filters make it easy to see who still needs a default, right from the console.
Guided setup assistant
A prerequisite checklist confirms multi-warehouse and storage-location features are active before anyone assigns a default, with one-click buttons to fix what is missing.
Governed self-service
A dedicated permission group decides who may change their own default warehouse from Preferences, enforced at the ORM level, not just hidden in the UI.
Warehouse visibility on purchase orders
The applied warehouse is shown directly on the purchase order form and list, so buyers and reviewers can confirm sourcing before confirming the document.
Multi-company aware
Because the assignment is company-dependent, users who work across multiple companies keep the correct default warehouse for each one automatically.
How it works
Assign warehouses
An administrator opens the console and sets each user's default warehouse, or bulk-imports assignments for the whole team.
Run the setup check
The setup assistant confirms multi-warehouse and storage locations are enabled, flagging anything missing before go-live.
Orders default automatically
When a user creates a sales order or purchase order, their assigned warehouse is applied without any manual selection.
Audit and adjust
Admins review the Assigned / Unassigned filter at any time, and permitted users can update their own warehouse from Preferences.

No — it builds on it. Odoo already defaults a sales order's warehouse to the salesperson's assignment; this app adds the missing purchase-order half, the admin console, the setup assistant, and governed self-service on top of that native field.
