Drag-to-resize with live preview
Grab the search panel edge and resize it directly in list or kanban views; the panel updates in real time as you drag, so you see the result before you commit.
Narrow / normal / wide presets
One click switches between three configured widths instead of dragging to a guess — ideal for quickly toggling between a compact view and a wide category tree.
One-click reset to native width
Made the panel too wide or too narrow? A single reset button restores Odoo's original default width, no undo history needed.
Per-user width persistence
Each user's chosen width is saved to their account and applied automatically the next time they open that model, on any browser or session.
Admin default width per model
Administrators set an organization-wide default width for each model from Settings, so every user starts from a sensible width instead of the native default.
Min/max width bounds
Configurable minimum and maximum widths keep the panel from being resized to unusable or expanded to swallow the list — enforced automatically during drag and preset changes.
Percentage or fixed-pixel width
Choose a fixed-pixel width or a percentage of the viewport, so layouts stay balanced whether the panel is used on a laptop or an ultra-wide monitor.
Mobile auto-hide & responsive breakpoints
Configure a breakpoint below which the panel collapses automatically, keeping small screens usable without manual toggling.
Coexists cleanly with the native toggle
Works alongside Odoo's built-in show/hide toggle instead of duplicating it — width control layers on top with no conflicting controls.

In Settings, configure the default width, min/max bounds, and the narrow/normal/wide presets for your organization.
Add per-model rules
Give specific models — like Products or Projects — their own default width from the Search Panel Width Rules list.
Resize as you work
Open any list or kanban view, drag the panel edge or pick a preset; the change previews live and saves automatically to your account.
Reset anytime
Click reset to return to Odoo's native width whenever you want a clean slate, per model or globally.
