The problem
Once a sale order is confirmed, Odoo locks it — there is no native way to formally revise it while keeping a record of the original. Customers change quantities, prices, dates, and lines after confirmation constantly, so sales teams either edit the confirmed order in place and destroy the audit trail, or cancel and manually recreate it and lose the history. No one can see what changed, when, or who asked for it — and procurement and production find out only when it is too late.
The solution
Sale Order Revision lets you spin off a new draft version of any confirmed or cancelled order without cancelling it. Every revision carries a clean label (v1.0, v2.0...), a plain-language summary of what changed, and a side-by-side comparison against the previous version — while linked purchase orders and manufacturing orders are automatically flagged for review.

When a linked purchase order exists, revising the sale order flags it with a warning banner and note so procurement never misses a change.

How it works
Create a Revision
From any confirmed or cancelled order, click Create Revision, add a reason, and choose whether to archive the source.
Review What Changed
The new draft shows a what-changed summary and a full lineage list against its parent order.
Compare Side-by-Side
Open the Compare wizard to see the old and new versions next to each other, with changed cells highlighted.
Downstream Teams Get Alerted
Linked purchase and manufacturing orders are flagged automatically, so procurement and production see the change.
