The problem
Guests expect to book a table online at any hour, but that intent rarely reaches the floor. Hosts re-key bookings by hand or keep a paper book by the register, so double-booked tables, no-shows holding prime seating, and lost guest notes are routine. On a shared terminal, any waiter can open, edit, or void any table, causing order collisions and disputed bills with no record of who did what.
The solution
This module closes the loop in one app. A public website form and self-service slot picker feed reservations directly onto the POS floor plan in real time. Each table locks to the first waiter who opens it, no-shows release automatically after a grace period, and every booking, lock, and override is written to an append-only audit trail.

The first waiter to open a table owns it until payment; other waiters are blocked from ordering, editing, or voiding it.

Managers can unlock or hand off any locked table to another waiter, with the reason recorded on the spot.

A scheduled job releases reservations that pass their configurable grace period, logging the no-show and freeing the table automatically.
Guest details auto-populate
Name, party size, and special-request notes flow onto the order the moment a reserved party is seated, with no manual lookup or re-typing.
One-click reservation to order
Seat a reservation and open its POS order in a single action, ready for the waiter to start ringing in items.
Email confirmations and reminders
Guests get an automatic confirmation on booking and a reminder ahead of their slot, cutting no-shows without a paid SMS gateway.
Full audit trail and guest portal
Every booking, lock, unlock, transfer, and override is logged with user and timestamp, and guests can review their own history from the customer portal.
