The problem
Native Odoo POS shows only a name and a price on the orderline. When SKUs look similar, share names, or come in many variants — apparel, cosmetics, bakeries, specialty grocery — cashiers verify products by memory or by re-reading a barcode. That means wrong items rung up, slower lines, and awkward corrections in front of the customer. The same blind spot follows the sale onto the printed receipt, the invoice, and the back-office order view, where nobody can visually confirm what was actually sold.
The solution
POS Product Images puts the correct product image everywhere it matters: the orderline, the printed receipt, the customer invoice and vendor bill, and the back-office order view. Cashiers confirm the right item at a glance, with click-to-zoom for close calls. Every surface can be switched on or off per POS terminal, sized independently, and falls back to a clean placeholder instead of a blank cell when a product has no image — so checkout stays fast and accurate, even on a 1000+ SKU catalog.

Product image in the POS orderline
Every line on the product screen shows the product image next to the name, quantity and price, so cashiers confirm the right item before payment.
Click-to-zoom on the orderline
Tap any orderline thumbnail to open a full-size zoom dialog, resolving near-identical products before they reach the customer.
Product image on the printed receipt
Receipts carry their own image toggle and size, giving customers a visual record of every item they bought without crowding the paper.
Product image on invoices and vendor bills
The customer invoice and vendor bill PDF/HTML report shows the product image alongside each line, extending visual confirmation to accounting documents.
Back-office order view with images
The pos.order form and the order-line list both add an image column, so managers can visually review historical orders — a surface most competitors skip entirely.
Per-terminal image policy
Turn orderline and receipt images on or off independently for every POS — multi-location retailers set the right policy per till, per store.
Context-aware image sizing
Set a small thumbnail for the orderline and a separate size for the receipt from one setting, so images never crowd a small POS screen.
Graceful missing-image placeholder

Live preview before you enable
The Settings page renders a live sample of the orderline with images, so admins see the result before flipping the toggle live.
How it works
Install and open Settings
Find the Product Images block under Point of Sale settings, with a live preview panel already visible.
Choose surfaces and sizes
Toggle orderline, receipt, invoice and back-office images per terminal, set thumbnail sizes, and upload a placeholder.
Cashiers confirm at checkout
Every orderline shows the product image; tap to zoom in on a close call before taking payment.
Images follow the sale
The receipt, the invoice and the back-office order view all carry the same product images automatically.
