Turn every voided order into an audit trail you can trust
POS Order Cancel History captures who cancelled every Point of Sale order, when, and why, then turns that record into a filterable history, a trend dashboard, PDF/xlsx export, and one-click restore.
The problem
Cancelling a POS order is a transient event by default — the order disappears from the screen and leaves no consolidated record of who voided it, when, or why. For a single cashier that is tolerable; for multi-terminal or shift-based teams it is a real audit and cash-handling blind spot. Managers reconciling a session, and finance staff investigating shrinkage, have no native place to answer "why were eleven orders voided last night?"
The solution
When a cashier voids a synced order, the module prompts for a standardized reason and keeps the order instead of losing it — stamped with who, when, and why. A filterable history, an analytics dashboard, a per-order detail view, a PDF report, native xlsx export, and one-click restore turn that record into something a manager can act on, not just a log to scroll through.
Everything a store manager needs to audit cancellations
Every capability below is implemented in the module.
Chronological Cancel History
A single, always up-to-date list of every cancelled order with a header Restore button, so nothing voided is ever out of sight.
Complete Attribution
Every void is stamped automatically with the cancellation reason, an optional note, who cancelled it, and exactly when — no manual logging required.
Per-Order Detail View
Drill into any cancelled order to see its full contents — lines, quantities, amounts, and customer — not just the fact that it happened.
Standardized Cancellation Reasons
A configurable list of reason templates — reorderable, archivable, and able to require a note — keeps cancellation data consistent and aggregatable instead of freeform text.
Analytics Dashboard
The history opens on a bar chart and pivot table showing cancellation trends and top reasons over time — insight instead of a raw log to eyeball.
Filtering & Search
Narrow by date, cashier, reason, or session, with Today/This Week/This Month filters, and search any record instantly by order reference or customer.
One-Click Restore
Recover an order cancelled by mistake, individually or in bulk. Restoring returns it to draft and clears its cancellation attribution for a clean re-void if needed.
PDF Cancellation Report
Print a shareable report — reference, date, cashier, reason, note, and amount — for management review or hand-off to an auditor.
Native Excel Export
Send the full cancellation history to a spreadsheet in one click using Odoo's built-in list export — no extra dependency, ready for reconciliation.
How it works
Cashier voids an order
Deleting a synced order pops a prompt to pick a standardized reason, with an optional note when the reason requires one.
Order is kept, not lost
The order flips to Cancelled and is stamped with who cancelled it and when — automatically, every time.
Manager reviews the dashboard
A clearly labelled Cancel Order History menu opens on the trend chart, then filters, searches, or drills into any order.
Export or restore
Print a PDF report or export to xlsx for an audit, or restore an order that was cancelled by mistake.
Frequently asked
No sales fog. If your question isn't here, email us and we'll answer it the same way.
Yes. Cashiers use the normal delete/cancel action; the only change is a quick prompt to pick a standardized reason (and a note, if that reason requires one) before the order is voided.
