The problem
When someone types @ in Odoo chatter, the suggestion list pulls from every partner linked to the record — vendors, customers, portal users, even external followers. One wrong click on a sensitive deal, staffing change, or internal decision can notify an outsider instantly, and native Odoo has no setting to stop it.
The solution
Notify Internal Users Only filters both mention paths at once — the server-side suggestion API and the client-side follower list — so only genuine internal users ever appear, even when an external contact is already following the record. Nothing to configure: it is enforced the moment the module is installed.
