Search Notes turns every chatter comment into instant, full-text search — across purchase orders, invoices, vendor bills, projects, tasks and more — so the note you logged last month is one search away.
The problem
Log notes hold the real story — why a purchase order was put on hold, what a customer said about a disputed invoice, the fix logged on a support ticket — but standard Odoo search cannot look inside that text. Finding one comment means opening records one by one, and it never scales past a handful of documents.
The solution
Search Notes adds a clearly labeled Log Note field to the standard search bar of your key documents, plus a dedicated Note Search console that searches log notes across every installed model at once — with snippets, date filters and one click through to the source record.

In-Context Log Note Search
A clearly labeled Log Note field appears right in the standard search bar of purchase orders, customer invoices, vendor bills, projects and tasks — type a few words and matching records surface instantly.
Dedicated Note Search Console
A top-level Note Search app searches log notes across every installed model at once, listing the document type, author, date and a snippet of each match in one place.
Full-Text Note Matching
Search matches the complete body of internal log notes, not just titles or tags, so a phrase buried deep in a comment is still found.
Matched-Note Snippets
Console results show a plain-text excerpt of the note that matched, so you can confirm the right comment without opening the record first.
Date-Range Filtering
Narrow console results to Today, Last 7 Days or This Month — or pick a custom date — to cut through long note histories on active documents.
Group by Document Type or Author
Group console results by the document model or by the note's author to scan large result sets by category instead of one long list.
Configurable Custom Note Fields
An admin screen lets you register any of your own Text or Html fields — such as invoice terms or task descriptions — so notes kept outside the chatter are searched too.
Batch Actions and Export
Both the in-context search and the Note Search console use the standard Odoo list view, so multi-select, batch actions and one-click Export work immediately, with no extra setup.
Helpdesk-Ready, Access-Aware
Because the console searches any installed model generically, it covers Helpdesk ticket notes when Enterprise Helpdesk is installed — and every result still respects each document's own access rights.

Go to Purchase, Invoicing, Projects or Tasks and use the Log Note field already built into the search bar.

Narrow by date range or group results by document type or author to zero in on the right note.
Act on the results
Select matching records to export or batch-act on them, or open a note's form to jump straight to the source document.
