The problem
Odoo shows the entire product catalog on every purchase order line, no matter which vendor is selected. For a distributor or manufacturer carrying hundreds or thousands of SKUs, buyers must scroll and visually check every line to confirm the chosen supplier actually sells that product — slow, error-prone, and reliant on tribal knowledge about who supplies what.

The product field narrows automatically to the selected vendor’s catalog the instant a partner is set on the purchase order, re-filtering the moment the vendor changes. A one-click catalog button, vendor price and lead time on the line, and a no-code settings toggle make the feature obvious and easy to control — not another hidden setting.

No-code on/off toggle
A single switch in Purchase Settings turns the strict filter on or off for the whole company — no domain expressions or developer help required. Enabled by default so the benefit is obvious from day one.
View Supplier Catalog button
A header button on the purchase order opens the selected vendor’s full product catalog in one click, replacing the need for a separate, disconnected browse screen.
Vendor price and lead time on the line
Each purchase order line shows the matched vendor price and delivery lead time pulled straight from the product’s vendor pricing, so buyers see the decision data without leaving the form.
Vendor smart button on products
Every product form gets a Vendors stat button showing how many suppliers offer it, with one click through to those vendor records.
Products by Vendor list
A dedicated list view shows every product with its vendor count, searchable and filterable by vendor, for a quick company-wide view of who supplies what.
Bulk-assign vendor wizard
Select any number of products from the list and assign them to a vendor in one action, setting price, lead time, and minimum quantity together — existing vendor links are never duplicated.
