Portal self-signing
Customers sign a task directly from their Odoo portal with no backend login required — a simple, obvious call to action on the task page.
Draw, type, or upload
The native signature canvas supports drawing, typing a name, or uploading an image, so customers can sign however is easiest on their device.
Signature attached to the task
Every signature is stored on the exact task it approves, timestamped and attributed to the signer — never a separate email or document to reconcile.
Approval status at a glance
Each task carries a To Sign, Signed, or Rejected badge, plus dedicated Awaiting Signature and Signed filters on the task list so managers can find outstanding sign-offs in one click.
Controlled re-sign rule
Once signed, the portal becomes read-only. An internal user must explicitly click Request Re-sign to reopen signing — the first signature stays final until someone decides otherwise.
Backend visibility
Internal users see the signature image, signer name, and timestamp right on the task form, alongside Reject and Request Re-sign actions.
Per-project enable toggle
Turn customer sign-off on or off per project from the Project Settings form, so only the projects that need it show the signing flow.
Chatter audit trail
Every signature, rejection, and re-sign request is logged to the task chatter with full attribution, building a defensible audit trail.
Post-signature confirmation
After signing, customers see a clear success message confirming who signed and when — no signing into a void.
How it works
Enable on the project
Turn on Customer Signature on Tasks in the project's Settings tab.
Customer opens the task
The customer opens their task in the portal and sees a clear Sign this task call to action.
Customer signs
They draw, type, or upload their signature in the modal and confirm.
Team sees the result
Internal users see the signed status, signature, and timestamp on the task form, with Reject or Request Re-sign available if needed.
