The problem
Odoo's native planning tools happily schedule work onto an employee who is on approved leave, and give no at-a-glance signal for who is overbooked versus who has slack. Planners fall back to spreadsheets, cross-checking leave calendars by hand, and still miss the moment a plan stops being achievable.

Capacity Planning reads each employee's real working calendar and approved time off to compute true remaining capacity, then shows it as a color-coded kanban board. Overbooked, nearly full, available, and on-leave states are visible the instant a plan is opened, with one-click tools to fix what is wrong.

Color-Coded Planning Board
A kanban board of allocations grouped by employee, with every card colored green (available), yellow (nearly full), red (overbooked), or flagged on-leave, so overload is visible without reading a single number.
Absence-Aware Capacity Engine
Remaining capacity is computed from each employee's actual working calendar minus their approved time off, so a plan can never silently ignore an upcoming vacation or sick leave.
One-Click Most-Available Assignment
Assign an allocation to the teammate with the most free capacity for that window in a single click, without manually cross-checking everyone's calendar.
Reschedule Around Absence
When an assignee turns out to be on leave, move their allocation to the next feasible, leave-free window automatically, with the change recorded on the plan's chatter.
Add From Available Wizard
Bulk-assign every unassigned allocation on a plan in one pass. The wizard picks the most available teammate for each line while tracking hours already committed so nobody gets double-booked.
Capacity Optimization Suggestions
Get an advisory rebalancing note plus an interactive wizard proposing moves from overbooked employees to teammates with slack. Suggestions only, applied when the planner chooses.
Live Plan Totals & Capacity Check
Every plan shows total planned, capacity, and available hours plus a utilization rate as allocations change, with a Check Capacity button that blocks confirmation when the plan is not achievable.
Team Capacity Dashboard
A dedicated employee kanban and a Capacity tab on the employee form surface this week's available, planned, and remaining hours for the whole team at a glance.
Work Areas, Tags & PDF Reports
Organize teams into work areas with their own scheduling interval, categorize allocations with colored tags, and print a per-plan PDF report grouped by employee for sharing outside Odoo.
