The solution
Web Calendar Configuration gives administrators one clearly labeled settings screen, reachable straight from the Calendar app's own menu, to define how the calendar opens for each team. Set the default view, working hours, timezone, and interaction behavior once per role — or once for the whole company — and every user's calendar opens exactly right from their very next login, with no training required.

Dedicated, Discoverable Settings Panel
Calendar Setup lives directly under the Calendar app's own menu — and is mirrored under Configuration — so administrators find it on the first try instead of hunting through unrelated settings.
Role-Based Configuration Templates
Target a configuration to any Odoo user group (role), with a single company-wide Default as the fallback for everyone else. The right settings resolve automatically per user, no manual assignment required.
Default View Presets
Choose the scale each role's calendar opens in: Day, Week, Month, or Year, so field technicians, managers, and support agents all land in the view that fits how they work.
Working-Hours Time Range
Set the exact start and end hours highlighted on the calendar grid for each configuration, so the visible working window matches each team's real schedule.
Slot Granularity
Control how finely the calendar grid is divided — 15, 30, or 60 minutes per row — to match how precisely each team schedules its time.
Timezone Control
Pin a specific display timezone to a configuration for distributed teams that need to see a shared time reference, or leave it blank to keep each user's own timezone.
Display & Interaction Controls
Show or hide weekends and week numbers, set the first day of the week, and allow or restrict event overlap, drag-and-drop, and resizing — all per configuration.
Default Event Duration
Set how long a newly created event lasts by default and how it snaps when resized, so quick-created events land at a sensible length without manual adjustment.
In-Context Help on Every Setting
Every option carries its own tooltip explaining what it does, and the configuration form opens with an always-visible banner that walks a first-time administrator through what to do.
How it works
Open Calendar Setup
From the Calendar app's own menu, open the new Calendar Setup screen — no hunting through unrelated settings.
Create a Configuration
Name it, then either assign a Role (an Odoo user group) or tick Company Default to set the fallback for everyone else.
Set the Presentation
Choose the default view, working hours, timezone, and display and interaction options — each one explained by its own tooltip.
Save and Done
The configuration applies automatically the next time a matching user opens their calendar. Nothing else to configure, nothing to roll out manually.
