Service Receipt Tracker adds a dedicated Ready-to-Done receipt document on top of Purchase Orders, giving procurement and accounts-payable teams an auditable record of what was actually delivered before invoices get paid.
The problem
Services are consumed, not stocked, so they skip Odoo’s inventory receipt flow entirely. There is no built-in record confirming when a purchased service was actually rendered or how much of it is complete, so buyers approve vendor bills for work they cannot formally verify — and partial deliveries, like 3 of 5 scheduled maintenance visits, have nowhere to live.
The solution
Service Receipt Tracker adds a dedicated SRN document with its own Ready → Done lifecycle. Confirmed purchase orders generate receipts for service lines only, over-completion is blocked automatically, partial deliveries spin off a backorder for the remainder, and every receipt keeps a full chatter audit trail you can reopen or reverse if a service is disputed.

Sequence-numbered receipts
Every service receipt gets a unique SRN/YYYY/NNNNN number from a dedicated sequence, so you always have a citable document tying delivery back to the purchase order.
Service-only filtering
Creating a receipt from a confirmed purchase order pulls in only the service-type lines with outstanding demand — storable and consumable lines are never mixed in.
Over-completion validation
Completed quantity can never exceed what was ordered. Over-report it and you get a plain-language message naming the product and the exact outstanding demand, not a cryptic system error.
Automatic partial-delivery backorders
Validate a receipt with less than the full quantity done and the module splits the undelivered remainder into a new draft backorder, so staggered, multi-visit services are tracked through to full closure.
One-click access from the order
A Create Service Receipt button and a Service Receipts smart button sit directly on the purchase order, so procurement never has to cross-reference records by hand.
Ready to Done lifecycle
Each receipt carries an explicit Ready to Done status with a full chatter audit trail, and validating one pushes the completed quantity straight onto the purchase order line.
Reopen and reverse corrections
A completed receipt is never a dead end. Managers can reopen it to correct a mistake or reverse it entirely when a service is disputed or rescheduled, and the purchase order’s received quantity re-syncs automatically.
Outstanding Services reporting
A dedicated list and pivot view groups every undelivered or partially delivered service by product, giving coordinators one place to chase vendors and forecast completions.
Printable service receipt document
Every receipt has a clean, printable PDF showing the vendor, purchase order, status and a demand-versus-completed breakdown per service line — ready to file alongside the vendor bill.
How it works
Confirm the purchase order
Order services from a vendor as usual and confirm the purchase order.
Create the service receipt
Click Create Service Receipt to generate an SRN document pre-filled with the outstanding service lines.
Record what was delivered
Adjust the completed quantity per line and validate. Partial delivery automatically spins off a backorder for the rest.
Reconcile with confidence
Approve the vendor bill against a verified, auditable record of exactly what was rendered, or reopen and reverse the receipt if something changes.

No. Services are non-storable, so Service Receipt Tracker uses its own Service Receipt (SRN) document instead of the stock receipt flow. The module depends on Inventory only to add a menu entry.
