The problem
Purchase orders with dozens or hundreds of lines are impossible to search natively — buyers scroll page after page, browser find fails on paginated tables, and confirming whether a product is already on the order means a slow, error-prone hunt. Adding several new products means leaving the order to look them up one at a time.
The solution
A "Find Line" search box filters the order's own lines by name, code, barcode or description as you type — non-destructively, over every line, not just the visible page. A "Search & Add Products" wizard searches the whole catalog with category and attribute filters, shows stock and cost, and bulk-adds every ticked product in one click.

In-form "Find Line" search box
A dedicated tab on the Purchase Order form filters existing lines as you type — no button, no save required, no leaving the order.
Multi-field matching
One search box matches product name, internal reference, barcode and line description together, so buyers are never blocked by which identifier they remember.
Non-destructive, reversible filtering
Filtering never alters or removes order lines. Clear the search box and every original line is restored exactly as it was.
Quantity, price and stock in results
Matching lines show quantity, unit of measure, unit price, subtotal and on-hand stock together, so buyers verify details without opening each line.
"Search & Add Products" wizard
A header-button dialog searches the full catalog across name, code, barcode, reference and description without leaving the purchase order.
Category and attribute filters
Narrow catalog results by product category or by attribute values (size, grade, and similar), so buyers with large catalogs find the right variant fast.
Bulk-add with on-hand stock and cost
Tick multiple products, set a quantity per row, and see on-hand inventory and cost per candidate before adding them all to the order in one action.
Per-user purchasing-category scope
Restrict which product categories each buyer can search and add from — service and manufacturing teams see only the products relevant to their department.
Dedicated access group
A security group gates the search box, the wizard button and the category-scope setting, so administrators grant the feature only where it belongs.
How it works
Open the Find Line tab
On any purchase order, switch to the Find Line tab next to Products.
Type to filter existing lines

Click the header button, search the catalog, and filter by category or attribute.

No. The Find Line search is read-only and non-destructive — it only narrows which existing lines are displayed. Clearing the search box restores every line exactly as it was; nothing is ever altered or removed.
