The problem
Confirmed sales orders change constantly — a quantity revision, a price concession, a payment-term update — but Odoo locks a confirmed order into its fulfillment path. Teams resort to cancelling and re-creating orders or editing lines by hand, with no record of what changed, who changed it, or why. Finance and compliance are left defending decisions they cannot reconstruct.
The solution
Sales Amendment adds a single guided action that reopens a confirmed order for editing while preserving every prior version. Each change is captured with a reason, a before/after diff, and full user attribution, and high-value changes route through an approval step before they take effect — so the order stays confirmed, defensible, and always fully traceable.

One-click rollback
Restore any prior version of the order instantly from its amendment record, undoing a change without manual re-editing.
Approval workflow for high-value changes
Amendments that exceed a configurable value or discount threshold are routed for approval before they take effect, with dedicated Approve and Reject actions.
Automated stakeholder notifications
Applying an amendment posts an update to the order's chatter using a configurable mail template, keeping the customer and internal stakeholders informed.
Bulk amendment across orders
Select multiple confirmed sales orders from the list view and apply the same change to all of them at once via the Bulk Amend Selected Orders action.
Reusable amendment templates
Save common change patterns — a standard discount, a term extension — as templates so recurring amendments stay fast and consistent.
Mandatory reason capture
Every amendment records a documented reason alongside the diff, keeping the change defensible for finance and audit review.
How it works
Open the Amend wizard
From a confirmed sales order, click Amend to launch the guided wizard directly on the order.
Edit lines and terms
Change quantities, products, pricing, or payment terms, and enter a reason for the amendment.
Review or approve
The amendment is applied with a side-by-side diff, or routed for approval first if it crosses a configured threshold.
Track or roll back
Every version stays visible on the order's Amendments page, with one-click rollback available at any time.
