The problem
Odoo removed basic service-charge support in v17, and native tipping stays minimal, so cashiers add charges by hand at the register — slow during rush, inconsistent across staff, and prone to fees that never make it to the correct ledger account without a manual journal correction at close.

How it works
Create a charge rule
Open Point of Sale > Configuration > Service Charges and add a rule: charge type, fixed or percentage amount, and how it should trigger.
Enable it per terminal
Turn on Service Charges for the terminals that need it from POS Settings, and scope rules to presets or payment methods if required.
Charges apply at checkout
Automatic rules add themselves as the order total changes; cashiers add manual rules with a single tap from the payment screen.
Charges post to accounting
Each committed charge is a real line on the receipt and invoice, and posts straight to its own income account for reporting.
