The problem
In a standard Odoo POS, the customer directory is a shared pool: any cashier at any register can view, select, and edit the entire company's customer list, including customers served by other salespeople, other stores, or other franchisees. That creates privacy exposure, competitive leakage between salespeople who own their clients, and a cluttered lookup that slows down every checkout.
The solution
POS Own Customer Access enforces ownership server-side across three dimensions — salesperson, sales team, or store — so each cashier's customer list only ever contains the customers they actually own, plus any unassigned walk-in customers. Guided settings, a dedicated ownership list, and a bulk assign wizard let a manager configure it all in minutes, with zero perceptible checkout latency.

Opt-In Full Access Override
A dedicated See All Customers group lets a manager bypass the restriction deliberately, while every other user stays secure by default.

Enable Restriction
