Stop unprofitable sales before they happen
Enforce a minimum order amount at the register across store, customer, and tier scopes — with live shortfall coaching, a manager override workflow, and an audit trail that shows exactly what was blocked and why.
The problem
Card-fee floors, wholesale margins, and delivery costs get quietly eroded by tiny transactions. Native POS has no minimum-order enforcement, so cashiers either remember the rule themselves or skip it — and the apps that try to help split the job into two separate purchases that still leave discounts, returns, walk-ins, and manager exceptions undefined.
The solution
One installation resolves a single applicable minimum from store, customer, and tier rules with a documented precedence, coaches the cashier live as the cart total changes, and lets a manager authorize a legitimate exception at the register — every block and override captured in a searchable, reportable log.
Everything the enforcement engine needs, built in
Every capability below is implemented in the module.
Store Minimum & Enforcement Stance
Set a per-register minimum order amount and choose whether it hard blocks payment, warns only, or allows a manager override.
Per-Customer Minimum
Assign an individual floor to any contact. It follows that account across cashiers and shifts, overriding the store and tier defaults.
Customer-Tier Minimum
Set a minimum once on a customer tag, like Wholesale, so an entire tier shares one floor without per-contact maintenance.
Transparent Precedence
When several minimums could apply, the cashier is shown exactly which one is enforced — customer, customer tier, or store — and why.
Live Shortfall Coaching
A banner on the product screen updates in real time as items are scanned, telling the cashier exactly how much more the cart needs.
Manager Override Workflow
When a stance allows it, a manager can authorize a below-minimum sale right at the register instead of forcing a policy bypass.
Exempt Customers
Mark staff or house accounts as exempt so they are never blocked by any minimum, regardless of scope.
Audit Log
Every blocked or overridden sale is recorded with the cashier, customer, applicable minimum, and shortfall for accountability.
Shortfall Reporting
A pivot and graph report groups shortfalls by scope, cashier, and register so owners can quantify recovered or lost margin.
How it works
Configure your floor
Set the store minimum, enforcement stance, and cashier message from POS Settings.
Set customer & tier minimums
Assign a minimum to a contact or a tag, or mark an account exempt, straight from Contacts.
Cashiers get live coaching
As items are added, the register shows the applicable minimum and the remaining shortfall.
Enforce at payment
Below-minimum carts are blocked, warned, or sent to manager override, then logged for the shortfall report.
Frequently asked
No sales fog. If your question isn't here, email us and we'll answer it the same way.
You can set a store minimum, a per-customer minimum, and a per-tier (tag) minimum. The engine resolves one applicable minimum per order with a documented precedence: a customer's own minimum overrides its tier minimum, which overrides the store minimum.
