Restrict buyers to their own RFQs and purchase orders, lock editing by state, block unauthorized creation, and keep a full audit trail — all configured from Settings, no Record Rules required.
The problem
Every Purchase User in Odoo can see, and edit, every colleague's purchase orders and RFQs by default. Junior buyers see strategic vendor pricing, contractors see orders from other departments, and a cluttered list makes it hard for anyone to find their own work — and native Odoo offers no simple toggle to fix it.
The solution
Own Purchase Order Governance restricts each buyer to their own (or their team's) orders, locks editing once an order reaches a chosen state, blocks creation for specific users, and logs every denial, override, and reassignment — configured entirely from Settings.

Own-Order Visibility Filtering
Buyers see only the RFQs and purchase orders they own; everyone else's orders stay out of the list, so a buyer's screen shows just their own work.
Configurable Ownership Basis
Admins choose whether "own" means the assigned buyer, the person who created the record, or the buyer's whole department team, from a single Settings toggle.
Manager & Exempt Overrides
Purchase Managers always see every order, and admins can grant a "View All Orders" exemption to named auditors or executives without making them managers.
State-Based Edit Locking
Admins lock editing on any combination of RFQ, RFQ Sent, To Approve, and Purchase Order states, so confirmed orders cannot be silently changed.
Lock Feedback Banner
A locked order shows a clear warning banner and a lock icon explaining exactly why editing is disabled, instead of just hiding the Edit button.
Per-User Edit & Creation Blocking
Admins can block specific users from editing orders or from creating new purchase orders at all, independent of state or role.
Bulk Buyer Reassignment
Reassign the buyer on many purchase orders at once straight from the list view, with every reassignment written to the audit log.
Bulk Permission Management
Grant or revoke view-all, edit-blocked, create-blocked, or edit-override permissions for multiple users in a single wizard instead of editing users one by one.
Access Audit Log & Compliance Report
Every denied action, override, and reassignment is recorded with user, order, reason, and timestamp in a searchable compliance ledger.
How it works
Configure Governance
In Settings > Purchase, turn on visibility, pick the ownership basis, and tick which states lock editing.
Assign Permissions
Use the Bulk Permissions wizard to exempt auditors, block specific editors, or restrict who can create orders.
Buyers Work As Usual
Each buyer opens Purchase and sees only their own (or their team's) RFQs and orders, with locked orders clearly marked.
Review & Reassign
Managers audit access from the compliance log and use Bulk Reassign when buyers change territory or leave.
