The Generate wizard scans hr.attendance for a date range and department, previews every late-in, early-out and absence it finds, and only creates penalties once you confirm — with an optional daily cron for ongoing enforcement.
Configurable grace periods
Set grace minutes per violation type and a minimum-occurrence threshold, so a single late arrival under five minutes never triggers a penalty.
Configurable escalation tiers
Build a two-to-four level escalation ladder, from Warning to Severe, that applies stricter penalties as occurrences add up — configurable, not hard-coded to six levels.
Dual outcome — deduction or leave
Choose per policy whether a penalty deducts pay, creates an unpaid leave record, or is a warning only — and see exactly which one applies before you confirm.
Payslip-impact preview
Every penalty computes a net-impact percentage against a reference wage, so HR sees the financial effect before committing to a deduction.
Manager exceptions and waivers
Managers can waive any penalty with a documented reason, so a called-ahead absence or a legitimate excuse never becomes an unfair deduction.
Employee disputes
Employees raise a dispute directly on their own penalty for a missing punch, wrong punch, or excused absence; approving a dispute automatically waives the penalty.
Guided policy builder and industry presets
A step-by-step wizard pre-fills grace periods and rates from Manufacturing, IT or Retail presets, so a complete policy takes minutes instead of a support ticket.
Centralized dashboard and employee scoring

No. HR Employee Penalty runs on Community with just hr, hr_attendance, hr_holidays and mail. Deductions are recorded as a monetary amount on the penalty for your payroll process to consume; the module never requires the Enterprise Payroll app.
