The problem
Hospitals and ambulance operators still coordinate transport by phone, spreadsheet, and paper log. A dispatcher has to guess which vehicle is free, which crew is on shift, and whether the vehicle is even roadworthy — while the patient record and the invoice fall out of sync. A kanban board grouped by trip status — New, Dispatched, En Route, On Scene, Transporting, Completed — so a dispatcher sees every trip's stage at a glance, for both emergency and non-emergency requests.
One-click dispatch from the patient
A "Dispatch Ambulance" button sits directly on the patient record. One click opens a pre-filled trip request — no re-keying details across screens.
Multi-channel intake queue
Every request records how it arrived — phone, email, website, walk-in, or internal — so requests from every channel land in one unified queue with an automatic queue token.
Fleet registry with roadworthiness alerts
Every vehicle tracks insurance and permit expiry, odometer, and next maintenance date. Expiring cover, overdue maintenance, or an out-of-service vehicle are flagged automatically, and a trip cannot be assigned to a vehicle that is not roadworthy.
Preventive & corrective maintenance
Schedule, start, and close maintenance jobs per vehicle. Completing a job updates the vehicle's last-service date and frees it back to active duty automatically.
Crew registry & on-call availability
Drivers, paramedics, EMTs, and nurses link to their HR employee record. Availability — available, on trip, or off duty — updates automatically as trips are assigned and completed.
Per-vehicle incident history
Log accidents, breakdowns, and complaints against a vehicle and optionally its related trip, with severity and resolution status — a running safety and compliance record for every ambulance.
Automatic billing capture
Completing a trip surfaces a ready-to-confirm charge. One click posts a customer invoice to the patient's billing contact — no trip is left un-billed.
Configurable defaults
Set a default transport charge and the standard maintenance interval from a single settings page, so new trips and vehicles start with sensible values.

No. Vehicle status is tracked on the dispatch board (Available, On Duty, Maintenance, Out of Service), not by GPS position, so the module works with no external mapping service or hardware to set up.
