The problem
Odoo shows cost price and sale-order margin across the back office by default, so any user who can open a product or a quotation can read what you paid a supplier and what you are earning. Most hide-cost apps only cover the product form, leaving margin exposed on sales orders, and grant access all-or-nothing with no way to let managers see what junior staff should not.
The solution
This module hides cost price, sales price and sale-order margin together, behind a single Can View Cost & Margin group that is granted to Sales Managers automatically and denied to everyone else by default. Per-product and per-variant overrides handle the exceptions, and a batch update wizard keeps cost maintenance fast for the users who are still authorised to see it.

Cost Price Hidden on Every Product View
The cost price field is removed from the product form and list/kanban views for anyone outside the Can View Cost & Margin group, not just greyed out.
Sales Price Restriction, Opt-In
An independent, opt-in group can additionally hide the sales price for specific users, for businesses that treat list price as confidential too.
Sale Order Margin and Cost Hidden
Margin, margin percent and purchase price are hidden on quotations and sales order lines, so the confidential number cannot be inferred from the derived margin.
Graduated Roles, Not All-or-Nothing
Sales Managers are granted cost visibility automatically; every other user starts with no access, giving you a manager-sees, junior-doesn't hierarchy from day one.
Secure-by-Default Visibility
Cost and margin are hidden from every user until they are explicitly added to the viewer group, the safer inversion of the usual restrict-a-group approach.
Per-Product and Per-Variant Overrides
Set a Cost Visibility Policy of Default, Always hide, or Always show on any product or variant; the variant setting always wins over the template.
Batch and Inline Cost Updates
Authorised users can edit a product's cost inline or update many products at once with the batch cost-update wizard, so locking visibility never slows down cost maintenance.
Single Cost Visibility Menu
One dedicated menu lists who can view cost and margin and gives authorised users direct access to the batch update tool, with no scattered settings to hunt for.
How it works
Install the Module
Install Advanced Hide Product Cost Price & Margin and the Cost Visibility menu appears alongside your existing Sales and Inventory apps.
Assign Cost Viewers
Add trusted users to the Can View Cost & Margin group; Sales Managers receive it automatically, everyone else starts hidden.
Set Product Overrides
Mark specific products or variants as Always hide or Always show to handle exceptions without touching anyone's access group.
Maintain Costs Safely
Authorised users update costs inline or in bulk with the batch wizard, while everyone else never sees the figures at all.
