The problem
Odoo's built-in grouping buckets records by the calendar year and quarter, ignoring the fiscal year configured in Accounting. Any company whose financial year does not start in January — common across India, the UK, Australia, and beyond — cannot group Sales Orders, Purchase Orders, or Invoices by their actual reporting periods, forcing finance teams to export data and re-bucket it by hand every cycle.

Group by Fiscal Year & Quarter adds real, stored fiscal year and fiscal quarter fields to Sales Orders, Purchase Orders, and Invoices — and to their Sales, Purchase, and Invoicing Analysis reports.
