The problem
Odoo assumes the planned quantity on a manufacturing order is final. Real production rarely is: a batch runs short on materials, a supervisor decides to use up leftover stock, or a food, chemical, or casting process simply yields more or less than planned. Changing the target today means cancelling the order and rebuilding it from scratch, discarding history and forcing a manual, error-prone recalculation of every component line.

Component requirements rescale automatically, a preview shows shortages and cost impact before you confirm, and every change is logged with who, when, old quantity, and new quantity — so nothing is lost and nothing is hidden.

Proportional Component Recalculation
Raw material and by-product moves rescale automatically to the new quantity, using Odoo's native manufacturing engine so the bill of materials always matches what is actually being produced.
Component Shortage Preview
Before you confirm an increase, see exactly which components fall short of what is on hand, with the shortfall quantity for each — so you never commit to a batch you cannot build.
Material Cost Impact Preview
A live preview shows how the new quantity changes total material cost, in absolute terms and as a percentage, before the change is applied.
Minimum Batch Enforcement
Set a minimum viable batch size per product. Quantity changes that would fall below it are blocked with a clear message, protecting process integrity.
Planned-vs-Adjusted Variance Tracking
The original planned quantity is preserved alongside the current one, with the variance and variance percentage shown directly on the manufacturing order for instant yield visibility.

Every quantity change is logged with the user, timestamp, previous and new quantity, cost impact, and an optional reason — accessible from a smart button on the order.
Batch Adjustment Across Multiple Orders
Select several manufacturing orders from the list and apply a percentage, fixed, or absolute quantity change to all of them in one step — orders that would drop below their minimum are automatically skipped and reported.
Downstream Fulfilment Warning
When a decrease could under-supply a linked delivery, the affected transfers are listed before you confirm, so shortfalls are caught early instead of discovered later.
