Extra Mail Attachments enriches the Odoo mail composer on sales orders, purchase orders/RFQs and invoices with one panel that gathers files from the document, its products, the vendor and the category — deduplicated and ready to send.
The problem
Sales, purchasing and accounting teams leave the mail composer to track down product datasheets, vendor compliance certificates or tax documents, then upload them one by one. It is slow, easy to forget, and the same file gets offered twice when several order lines share a product — so quotes go out incomplete and follow-up email chains pile up.
The solution
Extra Mail Attachments adds a candidate-attachment panel directly inside the mail composer. One click gathers files from the document itself, each line's product, its category, the vendor and the selected email template — deduplicated, labelled by source, with a running size total — so the right files are ready before you hit send.

One-click attachment loading
A single Load related attachments button in the mail composer scans the document and its lines, then builds a ready-to-review candidate list — no more leaving the composer to hunt for a file.
Works across sales, purchase & invoicing
One module covers the full outbound flow: sales order quotes, purchase order/RFQ emails, and customer invoices or vendor bills all share the same panel, replacing three separate purchases with a single install.
Product & line-level documents
Every order line's product documents — including variant and template-level files — are pulled in automatically, so the datasheets and manuals for the exact items being quoted or invoiced are always offered.
Vendor compliance attachments
On purchase orders and vendor bills, files attached to the supplier record — ISO certificates, test reports — are surfaced automatically alongside the product documents.
Category-level defaults
Files linked to a product's category, plus admin-configured category defaults, are proposed too, so shared documentation like a range-wide safety sheet reaches every relevant email.
Automatic deduplication
When multiple order lines reference the same product, its files are proposed only once, so recipients never receive the same datasheet twice.
Source-labelled candidate list
Every proposed file is tagged with where it came from — document, product, category, vendor or email template — so you can trust and curate the selection before sending.
Size-aware sending
A running total shows the combined size of everything queued for the email, with a configurable warning threshold so oversized emails are caught before they bounce.
Admin-configurable defaults & filters
Settings let administrators pre-designate default files per product or category, choose which sources are active, and block or allow specific file extensions — all without touching code.
How it works
Open the composer
Click Send by email on a sales order, purchase order/RFQ, or customer invoice to open the standard Odoo mail composer.
Load related attachments
Click Load related attachments — the panel gathers files from the document, its product lines, category, vendor and template in one pass.
Review & select
Tick the files that belong using the source labels and per-file size, or use Select all / Clear to speed up the review.
Add & send
Click Add selected to attach the chosen files to the email, then send as usual — no manual downloads or re-uploads required.
