Cloning a manufactured product in standard Odoo leaves its Bill of Materials behind. This app copies the full multi-level BOM automatically — with a preview, an audit log, and one-click undo.
The problem
In stock Odoo, duplicating a product template never carries its Bill of Materials along. The copy lands with zero components, zero operations, and no warning — leaving manufacturing teams to rebuild every line, quantity, and routing step by hand before the new SKU is production-ready. For a multi-level BOM, that rebuild is slow and easy to get wrong, and the mistake usually surfaces only when a manufacturing order fails on the shop floor.
The solution
Duplicate Product with BoM turns Odoo's own Copy action into a BOM-aware operation: every duplicated product can carry its entire multi-level Bill of Materials, operations, and variant-specific BOMs automatically. A dedicated wizard adds a preview of the full component tree before you commit, a success summary after, an audit log of every duplication, and a one-click undo if the copy needs to be reversed.

Auto-Copy on Duplicate
Turn on a company-wide setting and every standard product Copy also copies its Bill of Materials, operations, and byproducts — no extra click required.
Preview Before You Commit
The Duplicate with BOM wizard shows the full multi-level component tree, hierarchy depth, and exact line count before anything is created, so there are no surprises after the copy.
Multi-Level BOM Preservation
Nested sub-assemblies keep their own Bills of Materials intact through every level, so complex, multi-tier products duplicate as a complete, working assembly tree.
Variant-Aware Copying
Variant-specific Bills of Materials are automatically re-pointed to the matching variant on the new product, and any variant left without a BOM is flagged instead of silently skipped.
Selective Line Filtering
Uncheck any component in the preview to leave it out of the copy, so the duplicate matches the new product instead of forcing an all-or-nothing clone.
Operations & Routing Copy
Choose whether manufacturing operations come along with the duplicate, so routing steps and work instructions stay attached to the new BOM when you need them.
Bulk Product-Family Duplication
Select multiple products from the list view and duplicate them — and their BOMs — in one pass, with one audit-log entry created per product.
Audit Log & One-Click Undo
Every duplication is logged with the user, timestamp, and copied counts. If a copy turns out wrong, reverse it from the log with a single Undo button.
Duplicate-Line Guard
An optional, company-wide constraint blocks duplicate component lines on any Bill of Materials, closing the well-known duplicate-line problem seen on CSV re-import.
How it works
Enable the Setting
Turn on auto-copy and the duplicate-line guard from Manufacturing Settings — both are on by default.
Open Duplicate with BOM
Click the header button on any product with a BOM, or select several products and use the bulk action from the list view.
Review & Filter
Check the preview tree, uncheck any lines to skip, and confirm whether operations should copy across.
Confirm & Track
Confirm to create the new product and BOM, then review the success summary or the audit log — with Undo always one click away.
