The problem
B2B and wholesale sellers negotiate pricing, but Odoo's website shop shows every price to every visitor by default. Publishing confidential or tiered rates undercuts sales conversations and invites price-scraping — and most price-hiding approaches only hide the price visually, leaving it reachable through the page source, the variant switcher, or a direct API call.
The solution
Gate prices by product, eCommerce category, tag, or customer group, with the real price withheld at the source — the server never sends it to a logged-out visitor, on any route. Anonymous shoppers see a clear “log in to see the price” message plus a request-a-price form, so a serious prospect can reach you without creating a full account.

Server-side price enforcement
Hidden prices are withheld before the response leaves the server, so the real value never appears in page HTML or any JSON payload — no leak through “view source” or a crafted API call.
Variant-switch leak protection
Switching a product's variant never discloses a gated price — the combination lookup that powers variant selection is sanitized the same way as the product page.
Per-product hiding
Flip a single switch on any product to hide its price, leaving every other price on the site untouched — ideal for a handful of confidential or negotiated items.
Category and tag rules
Gate whole eCommerce categories or product tags in one rule instead of touching thousands of products individually — configuration that scales with a large catalog.
Group-based reveal
Let logged-in users in chosen groups — wholesale accounts, approved members — keep seeing the price while everyone else stays gated, matching tiered B2B pricing models.
Anonymous price-request form
A guest who hits a gated price can submit their name, email, and an inquiry right on the product page — converting an abandoning visitor into a captured lead instead of a dead end.
Restricted-products dashboard
One consolidated view lists every product currently gated and why, so you can confirm nothing confidential is exposed before it goes live.
Price-request pipeline

How it works
Turn on gating
Enable price gating in Website Settings and set the message anonymous visitors see in place of the price.
Define your rules
Gate specific products, categories, or tags, and choose which customer groups keep seeing the price.
Visitors see the gate
Anonymous shoppers see the shop and product pages as normal, with a log-in prompt and a request-a-price form instead of the price.
Convert and follow up
