The problem
Cashiers selling from a high-SKU catalog cannot always tell near-identical products apart by name alone. Standard Odoo POS never shows the internal reference on the product card, the cart line, or the receipt, so staff guess, walk to the backend to confirm a code, or keep a paper lookup sheet — all of which slow the queue and cause billing errors.
The solution
This app surfaces the product's internal reference (or barcode) on the product card, the active order line, and the receipt, with per-POS toggles, a manager-only cost & margin overlay, and an auto-generate plus uniqueness safeguard so every reference on the register is present and unambiguous.

Reference on every product card
The product internal reference (SKU) appears directly on each POS product card in the grid, so cashiers can confirm the exact item without opening a product form.
Reference on the active order line
The cart shows the same reference in front of the product name on every order line, so the cashier can double-check the SKU on the exact line they are about to charge.
Reference on the printed receipt
The identical reference prefix carries through to printed and preview receipts, so customers and back-office reconciliation can match every sold line back to the catalog.
Choose the reference source
Pick whether the displayed code comes from the standard Internal Reference or the product Barcode, per point of sale, so the app matches how your business actually labels items.
Manager cost & margin overlay
Managers can enable an on-card cost and margin badge for a profitability glance at the register, while the cashier-facing view stays clean and free of financial data by default.
Per-POS visibility toggles
Turn the card, order-line, and receipt reference display on or off independently for each point of sale, so multi-register and multi-store setups keep exactly the configuration each register needs.
Auto-generate missing references
Enable a company-wide toggle to automatically assign a sequence-based internal reference to any product created without one, so a blank code never reaches the register.
Enforce reference uniqueness
An optional safeguard blocks saving a second product with an internal reference that is already in use, keeping every SKU on the register unambiguous.
Search and scan by reference or barcode
Cashiers can type a partial internal reference or scan a barcode in POS search to jump straight to the right product — the same reference shown on the card, the line, and the receipt.
How it works
Enable in Settings
Turn on the reference display for the card, order line, and receipt from Point of Sale Settings, and pick the reference source.
Sell as usual
Ring up products from the grid as normal — every card now shows its SKU reference alongside the name.
Confirm on the cart line
Each added order line carries the same reference prefix, so the cashier can verify the exact item before charging.
Print with confidence
Close the sale and hand over a receipt that lists the same reference per line, matching the catalog exactly.
