The problem
Odoo assigns quotations and confirmed sales orders the same sequence, so a document keeps its quotation number after it is won. Quotes that never convert leave permanent gaps in the order series, customers cannot tell a quote from a committed order at a glance, and reporting cannot separate quotes issued from orders won.
The solution
This module gives quotations and confirmed orders two independent, configurable series — e.g. QT-2026-0001 for quotes and SO-2026-0001 for orders — assigned automatically on creation and confirmation, with the original quotation number preserved and logged for full audit traceability.

Independent Quotation & Order Numbering
Draft quotations and confirmed sales orders get separate, gap-free number sequences instead of sharing one series.
Quote-to-Order Renumbering with Audit Trail
On confirmation, a new order number is assigned while the original quotation number is preserved and logged, with a chatter note showing the mapping.
Custom Number Formats
Configure prefix, suffix, padding and numeric, alphanumeric or date-based patterns per document type, such as QT-YYYY-NNNN.
Period-Based Resets
Reset counters monthly, quarterly, yearly or by fiscal year to meet accounting and legal numbering requirements.
Per-Type & Multi-Company Sequences
Route different sale order types, such as Standard and Rush, to their own sequence, isolated per company.

A Preview & Test wizard shows the exact next number a configuration will generate, without consuming it.

How it works
Configure sequences
Set up quotation and order numbering formats, reset periods and per-type rules from Sales > Configuration.
Create a quotation
A quotation number, such as QT-2026-0001, is assigned automatically the moment the draft is created.
Confirm the order
Confirming assigns a new order number, such as SO-2026-0001, while the quotation number is preserved and logged.
Track and audit
Review the assignment log, the quotation-only view and printed documents to see both numbers at every stage.
