Sale MRP Status puts manufacturing order status, yield tracking, and multi-BOM selection directly on the sales order — visible to every internal user, not just the ones with an MRP role.
The problem
When a customer asks "when will my order be ready?", the salesperson has to leave the sales order, hunt through the Manufacturing app, and cross-reference order numbers to find out. Native Odoo keeps that data siloed, and the one competing add-on hides it behind an MRP user-role setting most sales users do not have — so the manufacturing tab never even appears for them.
The solution
Sale MRP Status adds a Manufacturing page and order-line columns to the sales order itself, visible to any internal user by default. It shows live status, planned-vs-produced quantities, and lets sellers pick the Bill of Materials at the point of sale — and it never rewrites component quantities when actual output differs from plan.

Always-visible manufacturing status
A status badge and Manufacturing page appear on every sales order for every internal user — no MRP role, no extra setting. Status rolls up to Draft, To Produce, In Progress, Blocked on Components, To Close, or Done.
Manufacturing information panel
A single panel on the sales order lists every linked manufacturing order with its state, component availability, planned and produced quantities, expected date, and the components involved — no app-switching required.
Multi-BOM selection at the point of sale
When a product can be built from more than one Bill of Materials, choose the right one directly on the sales order line, at quotation or after confirmation — a capability Odoo removed after version 8.
The chosen BOM drives the manufacturing order
The Bill of Materials picked on the sales order line is passed straight into procurement, so the manufacturing order that gets created builds the product exactly the way the seller specified.
Decoupled produced quantity
Record the actual quantity produced on the sales order line as an independent value. Entering it never triggers a recalculation of component materials or costs — normal yield variance no longer forces a cascade of unwanted edits.
Honest planned-vs-actual yield
The original ordered quantity and the produced quantity are both kept visible side by side, with the variance and variance percentage computed automatically — nothing gets silently overwritten when output differs from plan.
Configurable variance threshold
Order lines are flagged automatically when yield variance exceeds a threshold (10% by default, adjustable via a system parameter) — so the lines that need attention stand out on their own.
No extra role required for Bills of Materials
Sales users can view and select Bills of Materials on the sales order without being granted the Manufacturing user role — read access is scoped to exactly what the BOM selector needs, nothing more.
