The problem
Wholesale buyers placing a 40-line replenishment order are forced through Odoo's retail flow one variant at a time: open a product, pick a variant, set a quantity, add to cart, repeat. There is no way to enforce order ceilings, apply volume discounts, or let a manager approve an exception — so large orders stay slow, error-prone, and unenforced.
The solution
Product Bulk Order Metrix adds a single variant-and-quantity grid to every product, backed by real B2B controls: minimum and maximum order quantities, automatic volume-tier discounts, a manager approval workflow for overrides, CSV import, and one-click reorder from the customer portal.

Bulk variant matrix
Every color/size combination for a product appears in one grid with an inline quantity field, so buyers set quantities across dozens of variants without leaving the page.
Attribute filtering
Buyers narrow the grid by color, size, or any other attribute to find the exact combinations they need in a large catalog quickly.
Per-product order limits
Set a minimum and maximum order quantity on any product to enforce stock ceilings and contract terms directly in the storefront.
Real-time over-limit warnings
Any grid row that exceeds its maximum is flagged inline immediately, so buyers catch the problem before checkout instead of at fulfillment.
Manager approval workflow
When a buyer needs more than the limit allows, they can request an override; managers approve or reject it from a dedicated list and form view with full chatter history.
Volume-based pricing tiers
Configurable quantity thresholds apply automatic percentage discounts to bulk cart lines, rewarding buyers for ordering more.
Wholesale customer segmentation
Flag partners as wholesale (B2B) customers so bulk ordering and its pricing apply to trade accounts distinct from retail shoppers.
CSV quantity import
Buyers who already track their order in a spreadsheet upload a code/quantity CSV to prefill the entire grid in one step.

How it works
Configure limits & tiers
Enable bulk ordering per website, flag wholesale customers, and set per-product minimum/maximum quantities and volume-discount tiers.
Open the bulk order grid
Buyers click "Order in Bulk" on any product page to open the full variant-and-quantity matrix.
Fill quantities or import a CSV
Quantities are typed inline or imported from a spreadsheet; totals and over-limit warnings update live as the grid changes.
Add to cart & reorder later
All lines are added to the cart in one action, and any past bulk order can be re-added from the customer portal with a single click.
