The problem
Odoo POS loads the entire product catalog into the browser at every session start. Once a catalog passes about 10,000 SKUs, that boot takes several seconds to tens of seconds — a daily friction point for cashiers, a throughput hit for busy stores, and a support headache for the Odoo admins who get blamed. Staff also have no way to see where a physical item sits, so finding stock for restocking or a customer request means walking the floor or checking another system.
The solution
Cerevantix POS Load Product Location restricts the POS catalog preload to products actually on hand at a chosen stock location, cutting startup work for large or multi-location catalogs. Every product can carry a shelf, aisle, or bin reference that shows on the POS product card and in the product info popup, and a built-in load-time dashboard records every session boot so the speed gain is provable, not just promised.

Selective Preload by Stock Location
Enable "Load In-Stock Products Only" and pick a stock location; the POS then preloads only products that actually have on-hand stock there, shrinking startup for large or multi-location catalogs.

Add a free-text shelf location to any product straight from its Point of Sale tab — no extra model or import needed.
Shelf Badges on the POS Grid

How it works
Configure the stock location
In POS Settings, enable "Load In-Stock Products Only" and choose the stock location whose available products should preload at session start.
Tag shelf locations
Open the Point of Sale tab on any product and set a shelf, aisle, or bin reference for staff to find it by.
Open a POS session
Staff open the register as usual. The catalog preloads only the in-stock products from that location, with shelf badges and popups showing on the sale screen.
Review load metrics
Managers open POS > Reporting > Load Metrics to compare eager and optimized session boots and prove the speed gain.
