The problem
Odoo's Point of Sale shows individual order lines but never a consolidated count. Cashiers end up counting items by hand when bagging or reconciling a basket, receipts give customers no way to verify their own total, and busy checkouts turn into disputes when a shopper's count does not match what was scanned.
The solution
Cerevantix POS Item Count Total adds three live counts — total quantity, item count, and distinct products — to the cart, the printed receipt, and the customer display. Every count and every placement has its own toggle, configured per Point of Sale, so staff and shoppers always see the numbers they need.

Total Quantity Counter
Displays the sum of every unit in the order, updated instantly as products are added, removed, or edited.
Item / Line Counter
Shows the number of order lines separately from quantity, so staff see both how many entries and how many units are in the cart.
Distinct Product Counter
Counts how many different products are in the order — the figure almost no competing app provides — so a five-line, twelve-unit order reads clearly as five products.
Live Cart Display
All three counts appear on the live order screen in real time, letting cashiers verify the basket as they scan without recalculating anything.
Printed & On-Screen Receipt
The same counts print on the customer receipt, giving shoppers a paper record they can check against their own basket after checkout.
Customer-Facing Display
Counts also appear on the shopper-facing screen, so customers can self-verify their total while the order is still open — a placement no competitor targets.
Independent Visibility Toggles
Store operators can show or hide the quantity, item, and distinct-product counters independently, matching each store's workflow and screen space.
Per-POS Control with a Global Switch
Enable or disable counts on a per-Point-of-Sale basis for multi-store chains, or turn the entire feature off instantly from Settings without uninstalling.
Scan-Verification Cue
An optional “verify all items scanned” cue sits beside the counts, turning a passive number into a quick reconciliation check before hand-off.

Install
Install the app and every count is on by default — no configuration required to see results on day one.
Configure per POS
Open POS Settings and use the Item Counts block to choose which counters and placements each Point of Sale shows.
Sell
Cashiers see live totals on the cart as they scan, and the same counts print on the receipt at checkout.
Reconcile
Shoppers see their own count on the customer display, and managers review quantity, item, and product totals on the backend order form and list.
