One click to consolidate manufacturing orders
See which Manufacturing Orders can be merged before you select them, preview the consolidated result, and merge same-product orders into one — safely, with a full audit trail.
The problem
Planners end up with several small Manufacturing Orders for the same product and bill of materials — one per sales order, per day, or per manual request. Odoo has no built-in way to consolidate them, so orders pile up, work is duplicated on the shop floor, and merge attempts elsewhere only reveal incompatibility after the fact, with no preview of the result and no explanation of why a merge failed.
The solution
Group the Manufacturing Orders list by Merge Group to see compatible orders cluster together before you select anything. Select the orders, launch the merge wizard, and see the consolidated quantity, the source orders, and any excluded orders with a plain-language reason — before you confirm. Every merge cancels the source orders, links them for traceability, and logs the event in the chatter.
Everything you need to merge orders with confidence
Every capability below is implemented in the module.
Eligibility Preview
Group the Manufacturing Orders list by Merge Group to instantly see which orders share the same product, bill of materials, state, and company — before you ever select one.
Bulk Merge From the List
Select any number of orders in the Manufacturing Orders list and launch “Merge Manufacturing Orders” straight from the Actions menu. No extra screens to hunt for.
Quantity & Impact Preview
See the consolidated quantity and every contributing source order listed out before you confirm — never merge blind.
Self-Explaining Validation
Orders that cannot be merged are listed with the exact reason — wrong state, different product, different bill of materials, or another company — instead of a generic failure.
Merge Into New or Existing
Choose to consolidate the selected orders into a brand-new Manufacturing Order, or merge them straight into one of the existing ones.
Merge Beyond Draft
Consolidate both draft and confirmed orders, not just unconfirmed ones, covering real-world planning where orders are already confirmed.
Sales-Order-Driven Consolidation
When the selected orders share one sales order origin, the wizard surfaces it directly — a one-click way to consolidate orders that Odoo split per sales order line.
Full Traceability
A Merged Sources smart button on the consolidated order links back to every order it absorbed, and each source order shows where it went.
Configurable Default Behavior
Set whether merges default to creating a new order or merging into an existing one, in Manufacturing Settings, with a per-merge override.
