Lock confirmed orders, flexibly not blindly
Field-level, server-enforced locking for confirmed sale orders. Product, quantity, price and discount become tamper-resistant the moment an order locks — notes and descriptions stay editable, with a fully audited unlock path for authorized users.
The problem
Once a sale order is confirmed, any change to its quantities, prices or products silently breaks the alignment between what was sold, what gets delivered and what gets invoiced. Odoo’s native lock is all-or-nothing: it either leaves the order fully editable or freezes everything, blocking the legitimate note updates that keep coordination moving after confirmation.
The solution
This module locks only what matters. Product, quantity, price and discount are protected the instant an order confirms (or invoices, your choice) while notes and descriptions stay open. Authorized users can open a time-limited edit window for genuine corrections, with every lock, unlock and re-lock recorded in a full audit log.

Order lines become tamper-resistant the moment the sale order is confirmed — no manual step, no separate setup per order.
Field-level protection, no code
Choose exactly which of product, quantity, unit price and discount get locked from Settings — notes and descriptions always stay editable.
Configurable lock trigger
Match the lock point to your workflow: lock on confirmation, or wait and lock only once the order is invoiced.
Authorized unlock with auto re-lock
A permitted user can open a time-limited edit window to make a genuine correction — the order re-locks itself automatically when it expires.
Role-based override permissions
Only users in the Unlock Confirmed Orders group (Sales Managers by default) can open an edit window, keeping flexibility from becoming a loophole.
Comprehensive audit log
Every lock, unlock and re-lock is written to a dedicated audit log and mirrored to the order chatter, so nothing goes untraced.
Clear locked-field messaging
A warning banner and an explicit message name which fields are locked and which remain editable — no more silent, confusing failed edits.
Bulk lock and unlock
Lock or open an edit window on many orders at once, straight from the sale order list’s Action menu — no need to open each order.
Team-wide locked-orders dashboard
A single list of every locked confirmed order across the sales team, with filters and group-by for salesperson, team and customer.
How it works
Configure protection
In Sales Settings, pick the lock trigger, choose which fields are protected, and set the edit-window duration.
Order locks automatically
The moment an order is confirmed (or invoiced), its protected line fields become read-only and a warning banner appears.
Open an edit window if needed
An authorized user clicks Unlock to open a time-limited window, makes the correction, and the order re-locks itself automatically.
Review the audit trail
Check the Lock Audit Log or the dashboard any time to see who locked, unlocked or re-locked which order, and when.
