The problem
Getting an image into Odoo means saving it to disk first, then opening the file dialog, navigating to the folder, and confirming — every single time. Teams entering product photos, support screenshots, or signature images dozens of times a day lose real time and flow to this round-trip, and there is still no fast way to load images across many rows or variants at once.
The solution
Image Paste Upload replaces the file dialog with Ctrl+V. Paste a clipboard image or screenshot onto any image field in a form or directly into a list row, preview it before it saves, and rename the file on the spot. Bulk-assign variant images with one wizard, batch-import a folder of images by filename match, and let admins set size and format limits so uploads never fail silently.

Ctrl+V clipboard paste
Paste a screenshot or an image copied from a web page directly onto any image field — no save-to-disk detour, no file picker.
List-view paste
Paste images straight into an editable list row's image column, so loading a catalog of images never requires opening each record.
Drag-and-drop fallback
Drop an image file onto the dropzone as an alternative to paste, for users moving files from a folder with the mouse.
Preview before commit
A confirmation dialog shows the pasted image and lets you rename the file before it attaches, so a wrong screenshot never lands on the wrong record.
Variant image bulk assignment
A one-click wizard on the product form lists every variant with its own paste slot, plus Apply and Fill-empty actions to cover a whole variant set fast.
Batch image import
Load a whole folder of images in one wizard run, matching filenames to products by reference, barcode, or name, with an overwrite option and per-row status.
Configurable size and format limits
Admins set a maximum file size in MB and the exact list of allowed formats (PNG, JPG, GIF, WebP, SVG by default) from Settings.
Clear error feedback
Pasting an oversized file or an unsupported format shows a specific, human-readable notification instead of a silent failure.
File attachment paste and WebP conversion
Paste non-image files onto attachment fields too, and optionally have every pasted image auto-converted to WebP to keep storage lean.

Capture a screenshot or copy an image from a web page or another app to your clipboard.
Paste onto the field
Press Ctrl+V over any image field in a form or list row, or drop the file onto the dropzone.
Confirm and rename
Review the preview, give the file a meaningful name, and confirm to attach it.
Scale with wizards
For many records at once, run the variant assignment or batch import wizard instead.

PNG, JPG, GIF, WebP, and SVG are allowed by default, with a 10 MB maximum size. Both the allowed formats and the size limit are configurable from Settings.
